Scheduling Appointments
The office is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8-5 pm, Friday from 7-3 pm, and Wednesday from 8-12 pm. We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you have pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day. We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible.
We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. Due to the fact that Dr. Gallagher provides surgical services, various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a procedure. Emergency cases can also arise and cause delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Please call 512-258-1636 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
ConsultationA pre-operative consultation and physical examination is mandatory for patients undergoing surgery. Your initial appointment will consist of Dr. Gallagher’s evaluation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Completed Patient Registration Forms
- If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the insurance cards with you. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (prescription, over-the-counter, or herbal).
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
X-RaysIf your dentist has taken a panoramic radiograph, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our office.
Insurance ReferralsFor TMJ and Orthognathic patients, you (the patient/insured member) are required to:
- Know whether or not your medical insurance requires a referral to a specialist (Dr. Gallagher is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon) and/or non-contracted provider and
- To obtain that referral before you are scheduled to see Dr. Gallagher.
- We advise that you take the time to call your insurance company to ask specifically about the doctor you wish to see and your covered benefits.
- Referrals typically have an expiration date and limited number of visits so you should be careful to monitor the dates and visits.
- Our office is not able to obtain this referral for you, please be sure you have a valid insurance referral prior to your first visit with our office.
