Did you know it’s best to prepare for your appointment before you come in for surgical treatment? Well, it’s true! If you prepare for your appointment, you’ll have a higher chance of having a more successful and comfortable dental experience. So, your dentist, Dr. Dale Gallagher, and our dental team have a few tips that can help you prepare for a tooth extraction in Austin, Texas.

We suggest double checking the time of your appointment so you won’t be late. This will also help you plan your day around the appointment if you need to. We also recommend having a ride to and from our office because the dental sedatives might not make it safe for you to drive home. So, if you haven’t made travel plans, please do so.

We generally recommend that you fast 8-12 hours before your appointment, so please do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery. If you have a health condition that does not allow you to fast, please inform us of this condition and we will work something out.

If you ask your dentist for details about the extraction, you will know exactly what to expect and you will be able to use the time between appointments to prepare. Knowing what to expect might also help you feel more calm and relaxed rather than scared and nervous.

We encourage you to call Dale M. Gallagher, DDS at 512-258-1636 today if you have any questions or if you would like to know more about tooth extraction preparation. Dr. Dale Gallagher and our dental team want to help you have the best dental appointment possible, and we are happy to do anything we can to make that happen. So, call our office and talk to our dental staff if you need anything from us. We look forward to hearing from you!
